John Hargreaves factory visit for Designersblock project

We went for a visit to the factory of John Hargreaves the other day who we are collaborating with for the designersblock project along with Camira fabris. The visit was for us to gain an insight into how the cardboard is made and to see the different grades and options within the cardboard world. The visit was truley inspiring and the factory was awesome. The main machine which makes the paper is the same one which they had installed in 1910 and is still used daily. Martin Thompson shown us round and gave us a great talk into how the whole process works from the recycled cardboard through to it being pulped then being made back into paper, the corrugation then the lamination. The cardboard is now being made for the designersblock project and the designs are in place. Check back soon for some images of the development process of the pieces, and I hope you enjoy the photos of John Hargreaves.
